A note about licensing my content first:
The Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported is what it is. Basically, it means you can copy, add to, change, re-mix, adapt, print it, and hand it out so long as the author (me) gets credit for the original work and you re-release your version under the same or similar license. Ok, moving along.
Well, what about about? I’m Max and I’m an official geek (that’s my job, I’m a PC/Network guru), spend most of my free time playing with anything computer related, and here you’ll find lots of useless random information. Oh yeah, I better mention I love open-source and get that out of the way.
Also, I enjoy writing (that’s another of my jobs, and yes sometimes I get paid), mostly about anything and nothing at all, and about tech related things. You can see my writings at MC Press Online. I can greatly thank a personal friend of mine for inspiring me to pursue some writing (I used to be terrible at it). Of course from time to time you’ll get something useful that might actually stimulate a few neurons in your brain to trigger an electrical pulse. I enjoy writing step-by-step how-to guides mainly because when I entered into the world of OS, there weren’t many guides for new people to turn to. I hope my guides are easy for the Linux newbie to follow in order to start getting his/her feet wet in open source. By no means is everything I say always grammar or spell checked. Sometimes I just ramble, and don’t take the time to go back and proof read…such is life.
In case you can’t tell by looking around the site, I absolutely love and promote open-source related software. This website is proudly running on hardware I put together for a friend (he owns it but is kind enough to provide me some server space), and 100% running on open-source software, which I think we’re both very proud of.
I’m learning a lot when it comes to the world of the web and HTML, so as I go I do my best to make sure this website validates. I entered the computer world as a Windows guy with a knowledge of hardware and mechanical abilities. I was soon transformed into an open-source geek shortly after that. Since then I’ve never looked back! I’m always very open to correction or criticism on anything, so please use the comments for such. I think it’s very important to give back anything you can to the open-source community, whether it be cash or in my case a tad of helping others out.
Anyways, as you can notice I like to ramble on about many different things, and so thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my site! If you ever feel the need to contribute to anything, a simple thank you is worth more than anything.
