Hot office

Apparently Mother Nature has decided to flip the switch from the off position, to the damn-it’s-freaking-hot-out position in a matter of a day. I hate heat, but anyways, it’s related to what I was going to say. The point I was getting at…you know you’re a geek when…

You have enough PC’s/servers/switches/equipment running in your office, that the A/C system can’t keep up. As it slowly started to warm up today, my office slowly kept creeping up in temperature. After lunch I had about as much heat as I could take, so I go out to the thermostat to see what’s going on. It’s chugging along, but just can’t quite keep up the humidity today. I started shutting stuff down in my office to slow the furnace production down a bit…hehe.

You might ask, well what do you have all that stuff for. That’s a simple question, because I can. Also, because much of it is used everyday for whatever reason. I just found it humorous that I have so much stuff running in my office, it’s actually about 15 degrees warmer in my room than in the room next to me. I’m in an old building, so it’s expected. It’s crazy how much heat those little things churn out, of course when you have, oh, eight PC’s, a server, some switches, yeah it adds up.
