House rejects net neutrality
June 11th, 2006 — maxwellI wonder how long it takes now before you won’t be able to access low-traffic sites like this one? Since the U.S. House decided to vote for no net neutrality, this means that the telecoms will be in control of traffic on the Internet. A tiered internet is what most are saying will develop now, what a shame. Here’s a news link from CNET. And here are the actual vote results. Chalk a win up for the major corporations in the telecom industry. It you take a look at the vote results, you’ll notice most of the no’s came from the Republican party. I wonder how many of them are in bed with the corporations? I’m guessing quite a few… Apparently writing to the folks in my state did nothing. Why would I expect anything else though. Politicians…I’m glad I’m not one.
