My thoughts on the released Pentagon video
May 16th, 2006 — maxwellEveryone else is blogging about this, so I might as well too.
I don’t see the big deal. Almost everyone watched the planes crash into The World Trade Center, and stand by in shock, awe, astonishment, and disgust five years ago. Of course all the conspiracy theorist nuts are using this as the perfect opportunity to blame the government. I actually read tonight about someone believing that the government used a remote controlled plane to fly into the Pentagon…whatever.
Anyways, I don’t really see this a big deal. If anything, I see it as just a painful reminder to all those families and friends that lost someone in the attacks, or who were personally connected in some way to the tradegy. Not only do they probably think about it every day of their lives and forever will, but once again, now they are faced with watching a video of possibly the person they loved losing their life. It’s absurb, in my opinion, that they would have to endure something like this again.
The media eats this sort of thing up though. One person’s loss is their gain, unfortunately at least that’s how it is more times than not in their eyes. They can’t for once, leave a painful memory to someone alone.
I still remember the day it happened vividly, and I remember watching the news while they were filming people jumping out of The World Trade Center. Again, the media should have respected those individuals a lot more, but no, let’s keep the cameras rolling to get that story. That’s an image that probably I’ll always remember. When I think about how that’s burned into my memory, just multiple that by a thousand to those that lost someone directly. When you think of it that way, I think anyone can sympathize with the fact that having to watch this released video is just sad and painful. I think a little more respect should be giving to everyone.
