Tux500: A Community Powered Linux Marketing Program
April 24th, 2007 — maxwellI was reading my usual NewsForge newsletter during my normal routine at work this morning, and I ran across this link: Tux500. These folks are trying to raise enough money to get a Linux logo stuck on an Indy 500 car. How cool is that! They need at least $25,000 to get a small logo on a car, so drop on by and dump a few dollars into the cause. They are tracking results of donations by Linux OS type if you fill in your favorite OS during payment through Paypal. CentOS is on the list: Stats. They’ve raised just under $8,000 so far in 2 weeks, but there is another 27 days remaining, so go donate. You can live without a pack of smokes, or a couple of double cheeseburgers from McDonalds for a day.
