Thoughts from the abyss

I’ve been in several interesting conversations the past few months involving The Department of Homeland Security. The concept however good natured, simply just doesn’t and will never work. Provided enough planning, and the right amount of man power, almost anyone can circumvent the authorities who are trying to stop them. I personally believe they are incompetent, aren’t really helping people at all, and most of all are wasting serious amounts of tax money. Anyways, on to my point.

The DHS is now in the business of accepting fake ID cards…at a federal building. I’ll also add the federal building is their main headquarters building. According to the Washington Times, a retired NYPD officer used a counterfeit Matricular Consular card (a Mexican issued form of ID) to enter the DHS headquarters building. Now from what the article states, this form of ID is not considered a legit form of ID to enter any federal building, let alone the DHS building. Amazing. Simply amazing. Here’s the DHS attempting to thwart all kinds of threats to us in this country, when they can’t even police their own doors of their building. To me, this doesn’t seem to set a very good example, and especially doesn’t establish much credibility to the status of The Department of Homeland Security.
